-         Attended a drop-in meeting to mark ‘Advice Week’

-         Attended the launch of the National Autistic Society’s “Don’t write me off” campaign

-         Attended a reception hosted by Scottish Widows launching their 5th annual Women and Pensions report

-         Chaired the meeting of the Work and Pensions Select Committee where Yvette Cooper, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, talked about her department’s annual report for 2009.

-         Attended the Save the Children parliamentary reception where the highlight of the event was the screening of the national ‘Wee Shots’ film made by two young film makers from Bradford, James Lynch and Piers Telemacque

-         Attended the 8th Annual Diwali at Westminster reception

-         Meeting with Jack Straw to discuss the BNP

-       Attended a reception launching the National Housing Federation's election manifesto

-         Chaired a roundtable discussion, organised by Reed in Partnership, on Welfare to Work

-         Attended a roundtable organised by the National Skills Forum on ‘Skilling in a recession’

-         Attended a meeting organised by UCATT as part of their lobby of parliament on Pleural Plaques

-         Attended a meeting of the UNITE parliamentary group

-         Attended a reception hosted by Ofgem to highlight latest developments in the energy sector
